North Canton Soccer Club’s goal is to foster a love of the game that will last a lifetime. While we are committed to development and competition, we need to ensure there is enjoyment at all ages.  Not every game or practice will be fun, but we need to ensure their experience of playing soccer is enjoyable. Enjoyment is found in different places for every player.  Some players love competition, others love playing with their friends, or the process of development and achievement.  Each player is different, and the club has to provide an environment to allow enjoyment to happen, no matter the motivation. 

North Canton Soccer Club provides this environment through our development-first and community mindset.  While we want to develop great players and empower them to learn, we have to ensure the focus is on individual achievement and not wins and losses.  Our teams are based in the community and will continue to be filled with friends, but we want to make sure each team develops a bond to expand those relationships. Teamwork and being a good teammate are important to the growth of our players and something that will continue to serve them well on and off the field.  For the competitive athletes, we try to place each team in a division or tournament that will challenge them, but they can be successful. Building the mentality to win and the ability to lose, learn, and grow.    

NCSC encourages fun through enjoyable drills, game time splits, and after-event activities. Our academy does fun drills every practice and provides game time at the end of each session to ensure learning is fun.  We know each travel team has a long season.  Coaches will sprinkle in fun games and drills within practice as the season progresses.  Teams will interact with each other for collaboration and changing up experiences with new players and different coaching voices.  Our travel teams provide ample game time for every player to give them opportunities to shine and grow within game situations. All programs have opportunities for post-activity fun, including ice cream right down the street, coffee trucks from local businesses, and club/team picnics throughout the year.  NCSC wants to build players’ self-confidence, enjoyment, and relationships with each other.
